Lingual Braces

If you’re looking for the very best way to straighten teeth discreetly, look no further. Lingual braces work in much the same way as traditional fixed braces, but with one important difference: they’re fitted to the inside of your teeth. So you can smile confidently throughout your treatment, while your braces are hard at work behind the scenes.

Lingual braces have been growing in popularity since the 70s, but because they’re so discreet, they’re one of orthodontics’ best kept secrets. Here at Thames Orthodontics, we’re what you might call ‘lingual brace enthusiasts’, and together our specialist orthodontists have amassed years of experience in the field.

Lingual techniques have improved rapidly in the last decade, and we can now help even the most complex cases. So if you’re looking for a discreet solution and your case is too severe for Invisalign, lingual braces can provide an excellent alternative. That’s not to say they’re not ideal for more mild complaints too, and we can even use lingual braces to straighten just your front six teeth in a matter of months.

One of the best things about lingual braces is how quickly you’ll start to see results as there are no braces to hide the teeth. So if you’re straightening your teeth for a special occasion, lingual braces can give you quick results, without the fear that you’ll still be sporting train tracks come your big day. Even if your treatment is still under way, you can feel safe in the knowledge that your friends and family will be none the wiser.

Incognito lingual braces

Incognito lingual braces have revolutionised lingual treatment, with the introduction of custom-made brackets and wires. This means your brace is made to fit your mouth perfectly, giving us maximum control – and giving you quicker results.

Incognito braces are suitable for all ages. They’re ideal for nickel allergy sufferers, as the brace is made from a cast-gold alloy. And because the brackets are attached to the lingual (tongue) side of your teeth, there’s little risk of any lasting damage to the front of your teeth, such as staining around your brackets.

Lingual braces cost

Upper and lower lingual braces for adults cost from £7,500, or £415 a month if you spread the cost of your treatment over 18 interest-free monthly installments.

This cost of your lingual braces includes everything you’ll need: custom-made braces, all your appointments, fixed and removable retainers and follow-up care for 12 months once your braces have been removed.
